You DO have a choice, you don't have to let MAME adjust the resolution or use the ArcadeVGA cards lo-res modes.:Ĭonfigure MAME to only use the 640x480 resolution and turn on hardware stretching so that horizontal games will fill the screen and vertical games will be adjusted to fit. Keep at it, and post again if you need clarification.Īll i want is mame running on a 15khz arcade cab screen and not have to change monitor settings for all the games. This was true for all res on my Horiz machine, and all but one or two res on my vert machine. Keep in mind that there is a "sweet spot" on the monitor where the screen should stay stable for all resolutions. Pretty sure there is a way to do this on the fly, but I did it that way. Keep in mind I have 2 cabs, a horiz and a vert, so my setup is prob a bit more simple.Ģ) choose a game whoes res does NOT match one of arcadeVGAs produced resolutions (it will roll or not fit the screen)ģ) edit the ini to force it to use a native res from ArcadeVGA For my monitor there were a couple of resolutios I could not get to work, but all others are good.

If I went in an changed the ini in a game manually I got it to fit without monitor adjustments. What I found is that the ini files created are all the games native resolution only.

I used the res tool to create my ini files too.
